| Primary Care Medical Center was created in January of 1994 by the merger of Clark Family Medical Center and Hughes Medical Offices. Both practices before their merger had an excellent reputation of providing high quality medical care to a large number of patients in Southwest Kentucky and Northwest Tennessee. Dr. Charles Clark began Clark Family Medical Center in 1951. He was joined in 1988 by his son, Hollis Clark, M.D., an Internist. The excellent reputation of Dr. Charles Clark was continued forth by his son after the elder Dr. Clark's death in 1992.
Hughes Medical Offices was began in the fall of 1984 by the husband wife team of Joyce Hughes, M.D. a Pediatrician and Robert C. Hughes, M.D. a Family Practitioner. They quickly built one of the most respected and successful practices in Southwest Kentucky. They were joined by Robert Korolevich, M.D. in 1992. In 1994, Thomas M. Adams, M.D., a Family Practitioner, joined Primary Care Medical Center. The group recruited Daniel Butler, M.D., a Family Practitioner, in 1996. Dr. Butler before relocating to Murray was the Founder and Chairman of the Family Practice Department of the world famous Oschner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sean Kelly, M.D., an Internist, joined the group in 1998.
Primary Care Medical Center has continued to grow and provide new services to the people of Southwestern Kentucky and Northwestern Tennessee. In 2000, they were one of the first and only primary care offices to go to seven day a week service plus nights. They also were one of the first practices to go to fully digital, computerized records. In July of 2003, Primary Care Pediatrics opened in Suite 175W of the Medical Arts Building. This expansion occurred after the successful recruitment of Dr. Kim Burch, a Pediatrician. She joins Dr. Joyce Hughes, a Pediatrician, and the rest of the physicians at Primary Care Medical Center.
Primary Care Medical Center has a proud tradition of being new and innovative. They have been the first to offer new services in a variety of areas to their patients. As we look forward to the future, we plan to continue to provide our patients with the latest and best services and treatment available anywhere.
